Hi, I’m Sheryl! I’m an experienced freelance copywriter and content writer with an education in mass communications and a background in marketing and public relations. I have held positions in both the nonprofit and for-profit sectors, where I gained a solid understanding of marketing concepts. Over the years, I have also taken courses in copywriting, content marketing, and email marketing, and I continue to look for ways to learn more and keep my skills up-to-date.
Through a combination of my work experience, education, and additional coursework, I learned how to write persuasive copy that compels people to take action. As a freelance copywriter and content writer, I use my skills and experience to write concise, effective copy that can help you engage and build relationships with your target audience and compel consumers to purchase from you.

I also have about nine years of previous experience in marketing and public relations positions in which I wrote everything from ads and brochures, to newsletters and research reports, and everything in between. This experience included working in marketing and research at an economic development organization, managing communications and public relations at a Chamber of Commerce, and serving as a marketing director at a real estate company.
- I know my stuff. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications with a double major in English and concentrations in writing and public relations. In addition, I learned copywriting skills through the Comprehensive Copywriting Academy, and I completed HubSpot’s certification courses in content marketing and email marketing. I also stay updated on industry news and consistently look for ways to sharpen my skills so I can continue to produce the best quality work.
- I have professional integrity. When you work with me, you can be sure that I won’t share any confidential information that you share with me about your business, and I only write original work. I use reputable sources, and I don’t take shortcuts, plagiarize, or use AI to do my writing.
- I’m dependable. I do what I say I’m going to do when I say I’m going to do it, and I understand that deadlines are essential. Unless there is a hurricane (I’m in Texas, so you never know.) or other natural disaster, serious illness, family emergency, or act of war, I’ll have your project to you on-time.
